Covering Irish Stamps comprehensively

The 2009 edition of the Hibernian Catalogue offers more complete coverage of the world of Irish philately than any previous issue of this famous publication. Four new sections have been added: Booklet Panes, Railway Letter Stamps, Overprint Controls and Forerunners. Each of these new sections is designed to give the collector as much information as possible about the topic covered.

The new section on Railway Letter Stamps, for example, called for a totally new approach, including a 'straight-through' numbering system. In the new Forerunners listing, an attempt is made to provide an illustration of virtually every issue taken from an original stamp - a major undertaking. For the Overprint Control section, all existing cataloguing structures were scrapped and a completely new system was devised.
