On October 17, 2013, An Post issued four stamps entitled Contemporary Public Buildings. The public buildings featured project a forward-looking and creative image of Ireland, and demonstrate contemporary architecture enhancing the environment. Croke Park Stadium, Dublin, is an outstanding example of modern stadium design and it ranks as one of the finest sporting arenas in Europe. Designed by Gilroy McMahon, it won the RIAI Gold Medal for the period 2001–2003.
